Scholarships

You can support scholarships by giving a gift of any size to Financial Assistance

You may Sponsor-A-Student directly with a leadership gift of $1,000.

Your gift of $1,000 or more will be awarded in its entirety as a scholarship to an individual student in the following fiscal year — and the award can be named after yourself or anyone else of your choosing. You can sponsor the same student during each of his or her years at É«ÏãÊÓƵ with a multi-year pledge to the program.

As a sponsor, you will receive a packet of information about the student who receives your scholarship award. More importantly, you are invited back to campus for a celebration event that brings donors and their sponsored students together. This is a great opportunity to see the tremendous positive impact of your generosity.

Too many students are at risk of not finishing college because they don’t have enough money. These students are working — sometimes multiple jobs — but it’s not enough. They apply for financial aid and they still struggle. You can be part of the solution by Sponsoring-A-Student today. Your gift can be an outright gift of $1,000 or a monthly or quarterly pledge.

You may endow a scholarship to make a lasting impact.

An endowed fund is an enduring way to perpetuate your values for generations to come. You can specify criteria for the gift, and the income it generates is then used to provide annual support for students who meet your criteria. The gift can be endowed in your name or in the name of someone you would like to honor — and É«ÏãÊÓƵ will provide annual financial statements and information about your scholarship recipients. All donors are invited to participate in events or special meetings arranged to showcase the impact of their philanthropy.

A minimum gift or pledge of $25,000 is necessary to endow a scholarship. Typically, this is in the form of a one-time donation, a pledge commitment payable over a period of up to 5 years, or a transfer of assets. Confirmed deferred gift intentions or gifts of tangible property may also be used to establish an endowment.

Existing endowments at É«ÏãÊÓƵ play a vital role in furthering faculty and student research, securing new academic equipment for classrooms and laboratories, creating scholarships for study at Bridgewater and abroad, and more. Our endowed assets are managed by a carefully selected Investment Committee, and we strive to preserve and enhance the endowment principal while providing a steady source of interest income.
