Dr. Bender-Baird's research examines the ways in which law produces identity and shapes institutional experiences. Her work seeks to bring the perspectives and experiences of trans people to inform broader scholarly conversations regarding such topics as workplace inequality, legal consciousness, rights claiming, and medicalization.
