Dr. Kennedy-Hernandez is a political economist and business professor with over a decade of teaching experience within the United Kingdom and America. He has held appointments at the University of Birmingham (UK), St. Thomas University, Boston University's Questrom School of Business, Pardee School of Global Studies, Bentley University, and UMass Isenberg School of Management (Amherst). His courses integrate theories and methods from the fields of business, political science, and economics. An expert in global business, finance, and economic development— his research interrogates the politics and applied logics of economic policy-making, global financial markets, international financial institutions (IMF, WB, BIS), and crises related thereto. His widely distributed monograph Globalization, the IMF, and international banks in Argentina, 2019 has been praised by leading political economists in Europe, Latin America, and the US. It was also recommended by the Association of College and Research Libraries. His research has appeared in leading journals such as Governance (2020); New Political Economy (2022); and Global Society (2021). His latest work— under contract with Oxford University Press – examines the effectiveness of IMF lending in Latin American and Sub-Saharan African economies.
