David Chuckran
Educator

Dr. Chuckran is an educator for CityLab. He earned his Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Biology from Bridgewater State, his Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering/Science from the University of Florida, and his Doctorate in Science Education from Boston University. He is a recently retired science teacher/science department chair for Malden Catholic High School. Prior to that, Dr. Chuckran was the K-12 Science Director/Technology Director for the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District. He has over 48 years of teaching experience and started CityLab at Bridgewater State in the mid-90s along with John Kelly from Brockton. Dr. Chuckran is currently an educator for CityLab and is working with other staff members in developing additional modules for CityLab at the high school level. His hobbies include nature photography, visiting museums, national parks, camping, hiking, golf, gardening and model trains.

 

Janine Chuckran
Educator

Mrs. Chuckran is an educator for CityLab. She earned her Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Foods and Nutrition and her Master of Education from Lesley University in Instructional Technology. Mrs. Chuckran is a recently retired science teacher for the Bridgewater-Raynham School District and is trained in Project WET, Project Wildlife, Project Learning Tree, and Wonders of Wetlands. She is also trained in the EarthView Globe at 色香视频. Her hobbies include nature photography, visiting museums, national parks, and nature centers.

 

Donna Cochrane
Educator

Mrs. Cochrane has been involved with the Watershed Access Lab since 2004 when she first brought her North Attleboro High School environmental science students to the Ten Mile River. Now retired, Mrs. Cochrane earned her Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Foods and Nutrition from Framingham State and her Masters of Education from Cambridge College. Along the way, she became certified to teach Chemistry and Earth Sciences at the high school level. She is trained in Project WET, Project Wild, Project Learning Tree, and GLOBE. Mrs. Cochrane has presented her student鈥檚 work at National Science Conferences. Winning state awards for her student鈥檚 work starting a recycling program and data collection/interpretation for Harvard Forest and WAL was a highlight in her career. She spends her time doting on her grandchildren, cooking, researching her family tree, and volunteering at the local hospital.

 

Kim McCoy
Staff Coordinator

MsMcCoy has worked at 色香视频 for almost 20 years, 18 of which have been in educational outreach. She is passionate about getting kids and teachers excited about science and the outdoor world around them. Kim has two daughters that she enjoy spending her free time with. She coaches girls youth soccer and softball and Kim is a self-proclaimed 鈥渄ance mom鈥. Ms. McCoy is the Associate Director for the Center for the Advancement of STEM Education and the Staff Coordinator for CityLab. She earned her Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Biology from Long Island University Southampton and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from 色香视频.

 

Kathy Spicer
Educator

Mrs. Spicer is an educator at Citylab. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary/Special Education from Westfield State University and a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from Boston College. She recently retired as a science teacher for the Silver Lake Regional School District after 36 years of teaching. Mrs. Spicer was a member of the, "Earth as a System is Essential: Seasons and the Seas (EaSIE)," project with the Maine Math and Science Alliance. She enjoys spending time with her family and crafting.

 

Beth Young
Educator

Ms. Young is an educator for CityLab. She earned her Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Biology from Tufts University and her Master of Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She retired from the Easton Public Schools in 2016, after 31 years of teaching eighth grade Science and high school Biology. Ms. Young brought many of her students to visit CityLab at 色香视频 over the years, and is excited to be part of the CityLab team. She has served as a volunteer tutor and mentor for School on Wheels of Massachusetts for over ten years. In her spare time, Ms. Young enjoys reading, kayaking, taking fitness classes, and spending time with her two daughters.
