In the end, we want students to be the most efficient thinkers possible. Learn about some of the skills students must master along the way to help them truly understand the traditional procedures many of us learned years ago.

In this workshop, students will about a range of place value skills ranging from reading numbers on dice to calculating large numbers. Place value, addition, and subtraction, are building blocks for future math skills students will be taught. In the end, we want students to be the most efficient thinkers possible. This course will provide information about some of the skills students will require along the way to help them truly understand the traditional procedures many of us learned years ago.

In this workshop, you will play games that help children train their brains to always think like mathematicians. Young children are natural mathematicians. How can we nurture their mathematical minds and validate each “ah ha!” In this workshop, you will learn games that foster number sense and help children find joy in the patterns in math.

Logic, reasoning and proof are essential parts of mathematics in Pre-K through grade 12. This workshop focuses on looking for patterns, problem solving, perseverance, curiosity, logic, reasoning, and proof.
These mathematical games will encourage children to think flexibly and to manipulate and hold numbers in their minds.

This workshop will look at mathematical games and puzzles which engage students in looking a few steps ahead, developing strategy and solving novel problems.
