Internships
Internships give you the opportunity to put your skills to the test before graduating, gaining valuable career experience at museums, libraries, cultural organizations, archives and other real-world locations. Recent internships completed by History majors include research assistantships at the U.S. Treasury and at the Naval History and Heritage Command in Washington, D.C.; information-gathering work at the legislative office of a Massachusetts state representative; research on family history at Plimouth Plantation and the development of new museum strategies at the Old Colony Historical Museum in Taunton.

Undergraduate Research
Under the guidance of a faculty mentor, motivated history students may conduct independent research on a topic of their choosing; our students’ work has been featured at on-campus symposia as well as in the Undergraduate Review, Bridgewater’s journal of student research and creative work. The independent drive and motivation demonstrated through research projects make students especially desirable to potential employers after graduation.
